Camp Timon

For the third year in a row, I hosted a Camp in Oppdal, the place where I grew up skiing and where my love for the sport began. Oppdal has always been special to me, and that’s exactly why giving back to the community where I grew up feels right, and it’s something I’ll keep doing as long as I can. In the past two years we kept it local, but this year, the camp was bigger than ever with kids who travelled from other parts of Norway, which was really cool to see.

Around 60-70 young skiers joined us for a day on the mountain filled with free skiing, drills, working on the fundamentals, feedback, giveaways, food and hopefully some inspiration for them to learn and get better.

The day started with a short welcome and a rundown of what was planned. We split the kids into smaller groups and I made sure to get time with each group. It was really cool to see the different stages all of the kids were at. Technically, some were still figuring things out, and others were very good. We all grow and improve at different points in our lives. I was not the biggest or the fastest when I was a U14 or U16, but I wanted it, and I worked for it, that’s what matters. It is a positive thing to chase your teammates and aspire to be better.

After some hours of skiing, we had time for pictures, autographs, and quality time to chat with the kids. We then headed into the clubhouse where we had food and drinks from the amazing volunteers.

A big thank you to my sponsors: Sweet Protection, Reusch, and Komperdell for providing giveaways. Thank you to Trønder Energi for gifting Oppdal Alpin a check of 50.000 NOK. Also a big shout out to the other coaches and FIS skiers who helped make the camp a success and led the groups throughout the day. One of the coaches was Fredrik Møller, fresh off his first World Cup Super G win in 2025. Having everyone out there sharing knowledge and the love for the sport made the day even more special.

Can’t wait to do it again next year.
